uPVC Case Study: J. Wylie

A remarkable new build project, a detached home situated in Strathaven, called for a comprehensive replacement of its windows and doors.

The customer specified the need for products meeting a 1.4 u value and all necessary security accreditations to comply with building regulations. Additionally, they desired a modern aesthetic and a standout colour scheme. Our recommendation was slate grey on white, featuring a combination of Casement and Tilt and Turn Windows for ease of use, alongside Patio Doors, French Doors, and a standout composite door with a long bar handle.

PT Glazing supplied and installed a total of 22 products to fulfil the customer’s requirements and preferences.

Casement Windows

Casement Windows with double glazing have been installed at the front of the home, offering a sleek and contemporary appearance. The fixed casement design ensures maximum natural light floods the entrance hallway while keeping sightlines as minimal as possible.

Tilt and Turn Windows

Tilt and Turn Windows in a Sculptured Slate Grey/White finish have been installed throughout the property, offering both ease of cleaning and effortless functionality. These windows provide convenient maintenance and excellent ventilation, and they come with matching bright chrome handles for a cohesive aesthetic.

Entrance Doors

The customer expressed a desire for a striking contemporary Front Door, and we recommended our Monza design with a centred pane, long stainless steel bar handle, and steel letterplate—a stunning choice that truly stands out.

For the rear entrance, where a more understated option was preferred, we installed a uPVC Entrance Door featuring a half-glass, half-panel design, which complements the space beautifully.

Both doors are equipped with X3-star British Standard locks and offer a £2000 insurance-backed guarantee against intrusion. Additionally, both doors feature a slate grey exterior and a white interior finish.

French Doors

A lovely pair of traditional French Doors were installed, providing a wonderful transition to the decking area with ample clearance and effortless operation.

The doors are finished in slate grey on white, complemented by Chrome Balmoral handles, which include a £2000 insurance-backed guarantee against intrusions.

Sliding Patio Doors

A set of sliding Patio Doors were also installed, the customer sought a solution that wouldn’t encroach upon the valuable external space of the decking area. Opting for sliding Patio Doors met this requirement, much to the customer’s satisfaction.

These doors are excellent for maximizing internal or external space since they slide rather than swing inwards (double doors) or outwards (French Doors), conserving valuable space.

Additionally, the doors feature Ultion barrels and are backed by insurance against intrusions. Again the frames where finished in slate grey / white.
