Authenticity in window design relies on both what you include and what you exclude. Standard uPVC sash windows have seams from caps and covers. Our seamless technology removes these lines, creating a smooth surface that mirrors traditional timber.
Mechanical joints
Our Ultimate Sash and Case Window features authentic joinery-style mechanical butt joints, a hallmark of traditional sash windows. There are no welded seams, and the joint orientation mirrors timber, with vertical joints on the sashes and horizontal joints on the frame.
35mm midrail
An original sash window features slim timber profiles, a design element the Ultimate Sash and Case Window replicates, especially in the midrail. Our ultra-slim midrail is just 35mm deep—the slimmest available, 10% narrower than the closest competitor.
Paint-effect finish
Standard uPVC windows feature glossy or woodgrain finishes, which don’t replicate painted timber. The Ultimate Sash and Case Window offers a unique chalk-textured finish at no extra cost, eliminating gloss and false woodgrain for a more authentic look.

Seahorse sash horn
Sash horns are a key feature of sash windows, with Georgian windows typically lacking them and Victorian ones using them for strength. We’ve introduced a first for uPVC: an ornate sculpted sash horn, inspired by high-end timber sashes and named “Seahorse” for its unique profile.
Staff bead
Original timber windows used sash cords and a staff bead to prevent the bottom sash from swinging inward. We’ve developed a removable staff bead to replicate this detail while still allowing the sashes to tilt for cleaning.
Deep cill
Thicker timbers are used at the bottom of timber sash windows to prevent rot from rainwater. To enhance this, we offer an optional deep cill, 50mm tall, compared to the usual 25mm, providing extra protection against wood rot.
Chamber cover
This feature required years of development and a redesign of the sash gearing. The chamber cover conceals the balance chamber, providing a smooth finish with a narrow slot for connecting the sash to the gearing.
