• Lift-and-Slide Patio Doors: For effortless access to the outdoor area, the client opted for our popular lift-and-slide system, which offers a slim 35mm sightline. This system provides a minimalistic look while allowing maximum natural light.
• Top Lights: To enhance the space with more natural light, the client requested two top light windows, one of which was angled to fit the unique roof design.
• Tilt-and-Turn Window: For ventilation and ease of cleaning, the client chose a versatile tilt-and-turn window.
The customer selected aluminium due to its long-lasting performance, resistance to wear, and its slim frame, which complements modern design trends.
Our Solution
We recommended and installed our lift-and-slide system, known for its sleek appearance and excellent functionality. The system has quickly become our most popular slider, combining both style and practicality. All aluminium products installed come with a 25-year powder coating guarantee (dependent on location), ensuring long-term durability. In addition, the windows and doors provide low U-values, enhancing energy efficiency, and helping to reduce heat loss.
For maximum thermal efficiency, we used double-glazed glass with a centre pane U-value of 1.0, which ensures excellent insulation while maintaining clarity and light transmission.
Installation
The entire installation, including the patio doors, top lights, and tilt-and-turn window, was completed over the course of two full days. The client chose obsidian black for all frames, paired with black hardware, creating a sleek and modern look that perfectly complements the extension’s design.
