Home Security & Double-Glazing Windows
One thing that many of us fear is that someone breaks into our homes while we are at work or away on holiday. While security systems and CCTV can offer great assistance in notifying someone if an attempt is made or collecting evidence of the burglars, you also want to put measures in place to prevent or dissuade the burglars in the first place and that’s where double glazing windows come in.
Home security & double glazing windows go hand in hand. The very design of the windows with two panes of glass make the windows much stronger than traditional, single pane windows. Burglars know that double glazing is harder to break through and this helps put them off even trying in the first place.
Another layer of security added by the right double glazing windows is the locks that they have on them. Good window locks will be on par with door locks, with multiple locking points that ensure it is very difficult to break into them. Locks also offer extra benefits – you often have two positions with the window locked to allow some air flow into the room while still have the security in place.
Window locks stop people getting in but also stop people getting out – namely kids. A normal window can be opened easily by a small child, but the locks mean there is little chance of a child opening them. This removes the chances of accidents such as falling out of windows.
